CEDAR DRIVE PUMP STATION & SEWER MAINS, CITY OF COQUITLAM.
Owner:  City of Coquitlam.
Description: Construction of a new concrete wet well to a depth of 12 m below grade. The extensive sheet pile shoring required was installed by our own forces. The wet well was cast-in-place concrete and was sunk as a caisson.A separate concrete valve chamber and a stand-alone electrical utility building were also built. Directional drilling was used to install 700m of 350mm diameter and 350m of 450mm diameter HDPE pipe at a depth of up to 8m below grade. Open cut trenching was used to install 30m of 500mm diameter PVC gravity pipe at a depth of 10m below grade. See photo

BATH SLOUGH CANAL BANK & PEDESTRIAN PATH REPAIR, CITY OF RICHMOND.
Owner:  City of Richmond.
Description: Supply and installation of 60 m of 30ft long H2607-700ft sheet piles along the Bath Slough embankment for soil stabilization. Included in the works were the installation of 60 m of a new wooden fence, a pedestrian pathway, and restoration plants. See photo















REMEDIATION OF THE SOUTHLANDS TIDE GATE, CITY OF VANCOUVER
Owner:  City of Vancouver.
Description: Two sites, Blenheim and Carrington,required the supply and replacement of two existing tide gates with new stainless-steel gates of 48" and 36". The replacement of the gates required installation of  a drainage bypass system and was performed during the fisheries window and low tide periods. The third location, Dunbar, required the replacement of an existing outfall trash rack with a new galvanized rack. Work was done during low tide periods. Installation of the heavy new trash rack was done by helicopter as access was limited. See photo















32nd PRV STATION REPLACEMENT, CITY OF SURREY
Owner:  City of Surrey.
Description: Supply and installation of a new ground PRV complete with steel enclosure kiosk and associated electrical controls and instrumentation. Inlet and outlet piping is 250 mm stainless steel. See photo

COTTON B SANITARY LIFT STATION, DISTRICT OF WEST VANCOUVER
Owner:  District of West Vancouver.
Description: Upgrade of an existing 1200 mm diameter concrete pump station to a new 1800 mm diameter FRP station complete with separate valve chamber, new electrical control kiosk and standby generator. New forcemain and gravity requiring bypass are part of the work. See photo
















205 STREET SEWER LIFT STATION UPGRADES, TOWNSHIP OF LANGLEY
Owner:  Township of Langley.
Description: Upgrade of an existing 1800 diameter concrete pump station with a new slip-in 1800 mm diameter FRP pump station complete with built in valve kiosk and new electrical control kiosk. New forcemain and gravity lines requiring bypass are part of upgrade. See photo

Description: Replacement of existing Eckersley B Sanitary Pump Station along with construction of an extension of the existing sanitary gravity and forcemain sewers to the new pump station location. See photo

Description: Replacement of 20m of an existing 1200mm diameter CSP culvert drainage pipe with new 1500mm diameter sanitate pipe c/w new MSE headwalls. The work required sheet piling and dewatering to insulate the working area of ditch and ground water in an environmental sensitive area. See photo

SHELL ROAD NORTH DRAINAGE PUMP STATIONS UPGRADE, RICHMOND
Owner:  City of Richmond.
Description: The demolition and decommissioning of an existing drainage pump station. Installation of new combined MCC and generator building. Refurbishment of pump building complete with new top side structure, pump tubes and pumps. Work includes sliplining of an exiting corrugated pipe with a new HDPE pipe, timber densification pilling, sheet pile retaining walls and dewatering and bypass pumping. See photo















SPRUCE GROVE SEWER LIFT STATION UPGRADE, WHISTLER
Owner:  Resort Municipality of Whistler.
Description: H2S resistant lining of the Spruce Grove wet well with Predl systems concrete protective liner. Work included bypassing the existing pump station wet well with 8-inch diameter dri-prime pumps for approximately three months; deep cleaning of the pump station wet well; Installation of Predl panels complete with grouting the void between the existing wall and the installed panels; and replacement of corroded piping and related items. WEST COAST CHIP PLANT REDUCED PRESSURE BACKFLOW ASSEMBLY, VANCOUVER FRASER PORT AUTHORITY
Owner:  Vancouver Fraser Port Authority
Description: Supply and installation of 8" backflow preventor and heated kiosk housing. Work included connection into existing underground water line along with the installation of a new overhead electrical power. See photo















MISSION CREEK AT EVERGREEN PLACE CULVERT, DISTRICT OF NORTH VANCOUVER
Owner:  District of North Vancouver
Description: Replace an existing 23m long, 1.2m diameter concrete culvert with a 23m long, 4.9m wide x 2.5m high galvanized corrugated steel culvert. Work included concrete culvert; excavating a 30m long 7m wide trench through an existing roadway and supporting all utilities, including a 300mm diameter watermain; creating a new fish friendly creek bottom and re-instating all disturbed riparian areas, utilities and roadways, complete with catch basins. Description: The upgrade of an existing sanitary pump station. Works included installation of two new pumps complete with piping, valves and central kiosk. 















FENTON TRASH RACK SYSTEMS, PITT MEADOWS
Owner:  City of Pitt Meadows
Description: Installation of moving debris screen onto an existing drainage pump station. Includes the dewatering of the watercourse with the use of sheet piling for the water channel isolation. Work includes new electrical controls for the screens and auxiliary water pumps. See photo















PRV & PUMP STATION UPGRADES, PITT MEADOWS
Owner:  City of Pitt Meadows
Description: Removal of two existing PRV substations, of 10" and 12" diameter pipes sizes, and replacement with new, above ground PRV stations. Also, upgrading of an existing sanitary 6 ft. diameter FRP station with new pumps, valves electrical kiosk.

2018

GLENEAGLES INTERCEPTOR ARMOURING,  METRO VANCOUVER
Owner:  Metro Vancouver
Description: Armouring of 30m of exposed and undermined 450mm RCP for sanitary sewer. This pipe was below the water line at high tide. Work took place in an inter-tidal zone considered inhabited by marine fish and under the jurisdiction of the Federal Fisheries Act. Forming, re-bar installation, sealing and concrete pour with specialty rapid set high strength Chronolia Concrete all took place at low tide. A barge and work boat were used for the concrete pour. Final placement of 50kg rip rap carried out with excavator operated from a barge. See photo















EMERGENCY WOOD STAVE CULVERT REPLACEMENT, RICHMOND

Description: Replacement of a 750mm wood stave storm culvert, running across New Westminster Highway at No. 8 Road, with a 750mm Class 4 reinforced concrete pipe. Work included major intersection traffic management for the duration of the project.

Description: Removal and replacement of five existing pump stations with three new 8 ft.diameter FRP stations along the West Vancouver foreshore.  Installation of 600 m of HDPE pipe by directional rock drilling, pipe-bursting, rock blasting and CIPP lining.

BRITANNIA HERITAGE SHIPYARD FLOOD PROTECTION IMPROVEMENTS, RICHMOND

Description: Flood-proofing and raising of the existing 225m of wooden bulkhead flood-wall by installation of vinyl sheet piles. The sheet piles were then wrapped in new wood to retain the heritage site look .

RIVERSIDE LANDING HOUSING COOPERATIVE, VANCOUVER
Owner: Riverside Landing Housing Cooperative 
Description: Replacement of individual water mains in a Cooperative housing complex of 58 units. This included replacement of individual water service connections with new HDPE lines and new internal PRV's, complete with upgraded plumbing. Installation of a new PRV box complete with 500m of new HDPE 50mm lines to 75mm water-mains was included. Additional work included some sanitary line repairs, complete with clean outs and manhole installations. See photo.

Highlights included descending 70m on a 50 plus degree slope and the installation of a concrete dissipation chamber. Maximum slope 87.33%.
