CEDAR DRIVE PUMP STATION & SEWER MAINS, CITY OF COQUITLAM. Owner: City of Coquitlam.
Description: Construction of a new concrete wet well to a depth of 12 m
below grade. The extensive sheet pile shoring required was installed by
our own forces. The wet well was cast-in-place concrete and was sunk as a
caisson.A separate concrete valve chamber and a stand-alone electrical
utility building were also built. Directional drilling was used to
install 700m of 350mm diameter and 350m of 450mm diameter HDPE pipe at a
depth of up to 8m below grade. Open cut trenching was used to install
30m of 500mm diameter PVC gravity pipe at a depth of 10m below grade. See photo

Description: Supply and installation of 60 m of 30ft long H2607-700ft
sheet piles along the Bath Slough embankment for soil stabilization.
Included in the works were the installation of 60 m of a new wooden
fence, a pedestrian pathway, and restoration plants. See photo
REMEDIATION OF THE SOUTHLANDS TIDE GATE, CITY OF VANCOUVER Owner: City of Vancouver.
Description: Two sites, Blenheim and Carrington,required the supply and
replacement of two existing tide gates with new stainless-steel gates of
48" and 36". The replacement of the gates required installation
of a drainage bypass system and was performed during the fisheries
window and low tide periods. The third location, Dunbar, required the
replacement of an existing outfall trash rack with a new galvanized
rack. Work was done during low tide periods. Installation of the heavy
new trash rack was done by helicopter as access was limited. See photo

GLENEAGLES INTERCEPTOR ARMOURING, METRO VANCOUVER Owner: Metro Vancouver
Description: Armouring of 30m of exposed and undermined 450mm RCP for
sanitary sewer. This pipe was below the water line at high tide. Work
took place in an inter-tidal zone considered inhabited by marine fish
and under the jurisdiction of the Federal Fisheries Act. Forming, re-bar
installation, sealing and concrete pour with specialty rapid set high
strength Chronolia Concrete all took place at low tide. A barge and work
boat were used for the concrete pour. Final placement of 50kg rip rap
carried out with excavator operated from a barge. See photo
